Attica Consolidated School Corporation is located in Attica in the northeast corner of Fountain County on the southeastern banks of the Wabash River. U.S. 41, State Road 28, and State Road 55 all run through Attica. The corporation is comprised of three townships (Logan, Davis, and Shawnee) along with the city of Attica. The corporation includes two schools, Attica Elementary School and Attica Junior-Senior High School, that serve students in Grades PK-12.
The school diligently focuses on providing as many curricular and extracurricular opportunities for students as possible. As schools across the nation are eliminating the arts, music, and extra-curricular activities, Attica schools have maintained and added to its offerings. Students receive individual attention from teachers, and both teachers and students enjoy a 16:1 student-teacher ratio (the Indiana state average is 18 students per full-time equivalent teacher).
In partnership with families and community, Attica Elementary School works to foster a safe and caring learning environment that encourages lifelong learning and empowers all students to become productive and responsible citizens. The school’s number one goal is to increase student’s comprehension skills across the curriculum.
Basic courses like English and math are offered as well as instruction in other areas that help students develop their full potential. Every student in Grades 1-3 has a violin provided for them and is instructed by a professor from the Indiana University Jacob's School of Music. In addition to this, Homework Club is available for all students. This is a one-hour after school program designed to allow students the time and a place to complete their homework with help given as needed.
The goal of the staff of Attica Junior-Senior High School is to provide students opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become literate and productive citizens in our technology-driven society.
A 1:1 environment for all students in Grades 5-12 is provided by giving each student a Personal Learning Device. This device enhances classroom instruction, and it provides resources for project research and homework help. The school offers Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses. Students can elect to take career and technical education courses including courses in computer support and repair, CAD, and CNC machining.
The Attica Red Ramblers athletic department is a member of the Wabash River Conference. School sports teams include football, basketball, baseball, softball, cross country, golf, swimming, volleyball, tennis, track and field, cheerleading, archery, and trap shooting.
