Cass Township Schools is now part of the Tri-Township Consolidated School District. Students attending both schools are exposed to a great academic environment and plenty of extra-curricular activities.
Buying a home in the Tri-Township School District will allow your children a chance to complete their education from Kindergarten through High School graduation.
Students who are in the 3rd-8th grades have achieved the highest percentage of passing grades in the ISTEP+ test in both math and English/language arts in LaPorte County. A family-friendly atmosphere is what this school strives to achieve by allowing parents to participate in certain school activities. School lessons are fun and engaging in order to help each student reach their maximum potential.
Outside agencies provided by the school help children get involved in fun activities like 4-H that both students and parents can become involved in. Emerging technology helps students achieve academic success, and parents have the ability to monitor their children’s grades online and follow their progress. Smart boards in classrooms and take-home computers help students learn more efficiently both in the classroom and at home.
Lacrosse High School is located ten miles from Wanatah Public School and allows students to achieve great things both academically and athletically. Students at Lacrosse High School are able to take dual credit classes that allows them to receive college credit while still in high school. Students have the ability to actually receive up to one year of college credit before they graduate. The school even prepares students for life after graduation by offering career planning exercises and field trips to colleges.
Diverse classes allow students to receive a well-rounded education. Many foreign language courses are available, and students can even receive a Microsoft Networking Certification to help them jumpstart their careers after graduating. Students looking for academic help have access to tutors three days a week and can also attend summer workshops to keep their skills sharp.
Lacrosse High School also teaches students to be productive members of society by exposing them to a great program called Hoops for Hearts. This program organizes food drives and other activities that help raise money for programs like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Riley Children’s Hospital.
Lacrosse students have several athletic teams to choose from throughout the year: cross country, basketball, volleyball, weight lifting, golf, track and field, baseball, softball, pom-poms/dance, and cheerleading. There are also several academic extracurricular activities that are available including chess club, book club, drama club, National Honor Society, Academic Super Bowl, Spanish club, German club, Environthon club, yearbook club, and student council.
