Central Noble Community Schools is situated in the heart of scenic Noble County in northeastern Indiana. The district is located about 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne, 50 minutes east of South Bend, and 2 1/2 hours north of Indianapolis. Central Noble Schools are located in the heart of Indiana’s “Lake Country,” which includes Chain O’Lakes State Park.
Two of the three schools in the Central Noble Community Schools system are located in Albion, and the third one is located in Wolf Lake. Albion Elementary School and Wolf Lake Elementary School serve Grades K–5 while Central Noble Junior-Senior High School serves Grades 6–12. The school cooperates with the YMCA to house a preschool class for ages 3–5 at Albion Elementary School.
Central Noble also provides bus transportation to the Four County Area Vocational School in Kendallville. This vocational school’s mission is to provide quality relevant career and technical education and related academic skills enabling students to become successful lifelong learners. Programs offered there are auto body collision repair, automotive technology, CAD drafting, construction trades, cosmetology, criminal justice, culinary arts, health occupations education, interactive media, marine mechanics, precision machining, primary health care, and welding.
Central Noble students enjoy the advantages of attending smaller schools that provide personal attention to their needs. The schools strive to provide students with the opportunities of larger schools in this small-school environment. Central Noble Community Schools have 18 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. The schools offer new and exciting technology opportunities for the students. However, with all of the emphasis on moving forward, the schools continue to stay true to their roots by providing a safe, small-school learning environment that places an emphasis on strong principles and building relationships with students.
In cooperation with the parents and community, the elementary schools’ staff promote the Central Noble Core Values to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all its students. Values promoted include social responsibility, continuous improvement, high expectations, and visionary leadership. The schools provide a safe learning environment that facilitates student learning while promoting skills for future success.
The Indiana Department of Education gave both elementary schools “A" ratings in previous school years. And the schools had the highest I-READ exam pass rate for 3rd grade students in Northeastern Indiana.
The high school offers an advanced curriculum with many Advanced Placement offerings. All students in Grades 9–12 are equipped with iPads to enable them to master the 21st century skills that they will need to be successful in society.
Students have many opportunities to play sports on the Cougar teams at the high school. School sports include football, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, cross country, volleyball, soccer, tennis, track and field, golf, baseball, and softball. Students can also join clubs like archery, Zumba, and drama.
