Cloverdale Community Schools is comprised of three schools: Cloverdale High School, Cloverdale Middle School, and Cloverdale Elementary School. The schools serve students and families in the town of Cloverdale; Cloverdale Township in Putnam County; and Harrison, Jackson, Jennings, and Taylor Townships in northern Owen County.
The school system is committed to challenging each student to reach his/her full intellectual, creative, and physical potential through a fully-integrated curriculum. Students are challenged to become lifelong learners and problem-solvers through technological tools, global awareness, and other educational resources. Cloverdale Community School District, including each individual school, received an “A” rating by the Indiana Department of Education.
Cloverdale offers students a variety of core curriculum and support services that meet the unique educational, social, and emotional needs of students. Instruction is tailored in all schools through academic programs such as high ability, special education, response to intervention, vocational programs, and Advanced Placement/Dual Credit course opportunities. Students with outstanding aptitude and/or capacity for high performance have options beyond the regular curriculum.
At Cloverdale Elementary School, students are encouraged to do their personal best by implementing SCORE: Solve problems peacefully, Courtesy to others, Own your actions, Respect self and others, Everyone is responsible. Students receive instruction in a comprehensive variety of subjects emphasizing the basics. Students are also eligible for Supplemental Education Services if they need help beyond regular classroom instruction.
The mission of the Cloverdale Middle School, in partnership with parents and the community, is to challenge all students to reach their potential as active and responsible learners. A rigorous and complete curriculum is offered to students, keeping the unique needs of the age group in mind. Extracurricular activities available include softball, baseball, track, football, and basketball.
The mission at Cloverdale High School is “Success for Everyone.” The school curriculum supports the Indiana academic standards. The school also offers a Project Lead the Way program. This program provides an introduction to the principles of engineering and 3D modeling software. A partnership with Purdue and Ivy Tech also allows for dual credit courses. Students can participate on one of Cloverdale’s sports teams which include volleyball, cross country, football, golf, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track and field.
Western Indiana Knox Learning Center, which serves as a hub for 21 school corporations, offers credit recovery and/or alternative paths to a high school diploma. This center provides a wide variety of opportunities to not only students but to the community as well.
