The Greencastle Community School Corporation is located in Putnam County, Indiana. The district provides a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities in a quality learning environment. This school serves PK–2nd Grade students. Deer Meadow Primary teaches every student from those who are high ability to those who have special needs. The school has several programs and activities for the students ranging from the Outdoor Wetland to 50 Nights of Reading to Fast Math. It also has a Home/School partnership that allows parents to volunteer during classroom instruction, fundraisers, and field trips.
Ridpath Primary School is the second elementary school in Greencastle. In fact it is in the heart of the city. The school, which teaches children in Grades K–2, has a partnership with DePauw University. The caring, dedicated, and hardworking staff works on making every student a star by teaching skills like staying safe, trying their best, acting responsibly, and respecting others.
Tzouanakis Intermediate School is the only intermediate school in Greencastle. The school is named in honor of long-time Northeast Principal Mike Tzouanakis. It has been certified by AdvancED since 1995 and has received an “A” rating by the Indiana Department of Education in 2012. Students have several programs and activities to choose from including cross country, wrestling camp, art club, academic bowl teams, and fitness intramurals.
Greencastle Middle School is currently the only middle school serving Greencastle and covers Grades 6–8. The middle school has much to offer its students including a great arts department and athletic programs. Greencastle Middle School works cooperatively with the high school to provide students with challenges and educational experiences to accelerate them in their specific talent areas. Students are also able to take classes for high school credit. There are many opportunities for students to learn and develop leadership skills while attending middle school.
Greencastle High School offers many services and activities to prepare students for work and/or college. The sports teams here are known as the Tiger Cubs. Students can participate in the following sports throughout the school year: soccer, tennis, football, competitive cheerleading, golf, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, swimming, baseball, softball, and track and field.
