Selling a home is typically a very anxiety-inducing experience. To be honest, I dreaded the process. However, Jim's expertise and laid-back demeanor really redeemed the experience for me. Early on, he walked through my home with me and helped me create a manageable list of things I needed to do to prepare it for sale. He showed up on several occasions to check my progress, and more often than not he rolled up his sleeves and pitched in to help. He didn't have to do that, but he wanted to. His whole approach to the sale of my home was that he was my teammate. And he's got a whole group of other professionals supporting him - people I was able to reach out to for repairs, etc. His staging team and photographers were amazing. It really was a pleasure to entrust my home to Jim. Once we listed, he calmly managed showings and offers, and talked me through what was happening. One of the things I appreciated most was that he was able to help me focus on decisions I needed to make, while keeping the other details and negotiations in perspective. Jim was my realtor when I was moving from Indiana to the PNW. I had a lot to get done for a work promotion during a typically not a good sales time of the Christmas season in 2018. We were very fortunate to find Jim Carlton to help us with our house and my wife and I highly recommend him to be your agent. We were working with a realtor that didn’t exactly thrill us with our search for a home. One Sunday, we went on our own to an open house where Jim Carlton was hosting. Immediately we noticed how approachable and friendly he was. After we left, and making sure we had his business card, we decided to contact him about being our realtor. This was a decision we quickly found to be the right one. Jim took us exploring houses throughout Carmel and Westfield for what seemed like endless weekends and evenings. He was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process - new listings, follow-ups on offers made, and very strategic in finding us our dream home. Jim, Today marks 1 week since I closed, I wanted to tell you again how happy I am with my new home. I appreciate your patience over the last year, helping me whittle down a location and identifying home features that were most important to me. As disappointed I was in the moment when we lost a few places due to a hot market, I am now incredibly grateful. It all worked out for the best. I LOVE being tucked back inside The Fort property and practically in a state park--I ran in the park over the weekend, and it's so beautiful!! The YMCA and a few restaurants in walking distance (pizza and Mexican-my favorites) are a bonus too! The commute to work is cut in half, and I feel close to everything with 465 only minutes away. The living space and amenities in the home itself and the small yard is just perfect for me! And, as July 1st rolls around, I feel so relieved to not be shelling out that burdensome HOA!! I appreciate all your efforts to quickly show me homes I was interested in seeing and steering me clear of homes/areas/ and bidding wars that ultimately led me to my perfect long-term home! I've woken up feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for your efforts on my behalf (and the Grace that I believe also lead me here) every single one of the last 7 mornings.
