Lapel High School School

Lapel High School has long history that reaches back to 1874, when it first existed as a single-room school at Studley farm in the eastern part of town. The latest building to house Lapel High School was constructed in 2005, and it now stands as a modern structure housing productive classrooms. With a faculty that acknowledges that each student learns differently, teaching methods are adjusted as needed to adhere to that concept ensuring that Lapel High School produces high achievers. The school also offers a diverse athletics department, offering sports teams such as football, volleyball, cross country, golf, tennis, basketball, wrestling, and cheerleading.

Lapel High School also offers a long list of different extracurricular clubs, tailoring to the many different interests of its students. Some of these activity clubs include Future Farmers of America, Students Against Destructive Decisions, French Club, Health and Science, Spanish Club, and Academic Teams. The French Club immerses students into the French culture, teaching students about French cuisine by allowing them to taste the authentic foods and showing the club members French films.

With art and theater programs offered at Lapel High School, students are encouraged to express their creative vision and interests. Under the fine arts department of the curriculum, Lapel High School offers a band, jazz band, choir, and show/choir for students to partake in. This department is also heavily involved in putting on frequent events for the students, faculty, parents and family members to enjoy. The school also holds an annual art exhibit, putting its students’ artwork on display. Finally, the school also offers healthy lunch menus to its students, ensuring that a well-balanced diet fuels the excitement and participation in the learning process.
