The Liberty-Perry Community School District covers the city of Selma in Liberty Township in Delaware County, Indiana. The district is managed by the Liberty-Perry School Corporation. It is a student-focused corporation which has received awards for its educational programs. Selma Elementary School serves children in K–5th Grade. The school has a varied, rich curriculum that is student-centered. In addition to this, students receive weekly instruction in physical education, music, and art.
The school also works to keep parents abreast of their children’s success by frequently holding parent-teacher conferences. Selma Elementary School has some extra-curricular activities for students like ClubScout. It also has many exciting programs to keep the students engaged in the community.
This school is for children in the Grades 6–8. It has a full curriculum for students and also offers a number of academic, sports, and group programs. Students are encouraged to become involved in the school’s choir and/or band.
The band and choir are very active with several concerts held each year. Students at the middle school can join the following sports teams: volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, cross country, and cheerleading.
Wapahani High School was named a Four Star school by the Indiana Department of Education. Currently, this high school is the only school in the district. The school is devoted to providing students with a substantial educational in a safe environment.
Students at Wapahani can join a large number of groups, clubs, and organizations the school offers. Some clubs and groups include an academic team, student council, drama club, chess, comic book, and Riley Kidd.
Sports are also a very important to the school life for some students. In fact it has produced several highly accomplished players and sports teams. The high school’s girls’ volleyball team won the 2A state championship in 2011 and 2012. Wapahani’s sports team is known as the Raiders. Some of the sports the athletics department offers is golf, tennis, track and field, volleyball, softball, baseball, basketball, bowling, cheerleading, wrestling, soccer, and cross country.
