Monroe County Elementary Schools

Despite the large size of this school system, students are able to attend schools that don't overwhelm them with masses of children. This is thanks to the sheer number of facilities spread throughout Monroe County. In fact, some students are able to walk to school.

Monroe County Middle Schools

Students participate in science fairs, play in orchestras, and learn foreign languages at the middle school level. A high percentage of students pick up beginning Spanish, French, or Mandarin Chinese while attending middle school. In addition to these courses, many high school level math courses are offered at the middle school level as well. The district's middle school students attend either Jackson Creek Middle School, Tri-North Middle School, or Batchelor Middle School.

Monroe County High Schools

Students finish their years at either Bloomington North or Bloomington South. However, the district also offers the Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship, the Hoosier Hills Career Center, and the Bloomington Graduation School in order to supply learners in the district with as many resources as possible. The results are impressive with consistently high test scores at each school. Many students participate in a number of academic and social clubs, arts groups, and sports teams. Some of the most popular athletic programs at the high school level include baseball, basketball, football, cross country, track and field, soccer, tennis, cheerleading, competitive cheerleading, volleyball, golf, swimming, gymnastics, wrestling, and softball.
