Rossville Consolidated School District is located in the town of Rossville in Clinton County. Rossville is 15 miles east of the city of Lafayette. The Indiana Department of Education gave the Rossville Consolidated School District an “A” rating. The district serves Grades K–12, and it offers a before and after school child care program. It also has a Facebook page to keep students and parents up-to-date on school events. All grade levels in the Rossville Consolidated School District are contained in one building, and students from different grades levels are given opportunities to interact with each other, standing true to its motto: “Small school, huge success.”
The Indiana Department of Education named Rossville Elementary School an “A” school. The school educates students in Grades K–5. Curriculum standards are established using Common Core objectives. In addition to the subjects included in the curriculum, students in Grades 4–5 can enhance their education by participating in extracurricular activities such as band, choir, student council, basketball, and cheerleading. High school peer tutors are available to help elementary students. Peer tutors listen to students read, assist with homework, and reinforce classroom skills. Parents are encouraged to help with student events and activities, especially through the Parent Advisory Council. Parents can also volunteer to work as a Room Parent.
Rossville Middle School educates students in Grades 6–8. Students continue to follow a curriculum based on the Common Core objectives. Instruction is geared toward the emotional and social needs of the middle school student with the goal of helping each student successfully transition to the high school level. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. Rossville Middle School is home of the Hornets where students can join the basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball teams.
Rossville Senior High School educates students in Grades 9–12. The Indiana Department of Education named Rossville Senior High School an “A” school along with the distinction of being a Four Star School. This school was also in the top 25th percentile of schools in three ISTEP-based categories. The general curriculum follows objectives found in Indiana’s Core 40 program. These courses prepare students for post-secondary education, the military, and careers after graduation.
In addition to the general curriculum, students can take Honors classes. The school wants to be certain the high-ability students are well served and offers several Advanced Placement courses: AP biology, AP calculus, AP physics, AP chemistry, AP English language & composition, AP English literature & composition, and AP United States History. Students can elect to participate in the dual credit courses as well, earning Ivy Tech credits while earning high school credits for the same courses. These courses are offered in the agriculture, business, and career and technology department. Many students join in athletic programs such as cross country, soccer, tennis, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, golf, softball, and track and field.
