IndyStar Wine & Food Experience

Food + Indy Chefs + Wine + Clay Terrace + Scott Conant = A foodie’s paradise.  Where could you find such an experience? I know, I am getting to the point. The IndyStar Wine & Food Experience, a premier Indy foodie event, is taking place in Clay Terrace (Carmel) on September 29 from 1:00-4:00pm.

What happens at this event, you ask?  Well the Wine & Food Experience is a part of, “a 12-city tour celebrating the best chefs, wine and food in our communities.”  This year’s event will be in partnership with the Martha Stewart Experience and will feature celebrity chef, Scott Conant. If you do not already know, Scott Conant is a renowned chef known for his Italian cuisine. He has several restaurants in New York City including L’Impero, Alto, and Scarpetta, just to name a few.  He also has restaurants in Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, and Arizona. He is most widely known, however, as a judge on Food Network, primarily on Chopped.  He will be leading a cooking demonstration and will have a Celebrity Chef Meet & Greet for those who purchased the Chef’s Package ticket.

I am sure a question mark appeared above your head when I said Martha Stewart.  No, Martha Stewart will not be in Clay Terrace on the 29, but her Martha Stewart Experience staff will be.  They will lead cooking demonstrations and will have different activities for guests to do in the Martha Stewart Pavilion.  Believe it or not, Martha Stewart does attend other events in this series, but she seems to be visiting only the big glamorous cities like New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Santa Monica.

Last but certainly not least, the most exciting portion of the event is the Grand Tasting.  What is the Grand Tasting? Think of over 25 awesome Indianapolis restaurants all together in the same place offering samples of their fare.  Sounds like heaven to you? I know. Guests are free to roam the grounds, sampling delicious foods, wines, and beers. What makes the Grand Tasting even better is that many of the restaurants will have the chef or owner present at the event.  Some of these chefs will be a part of demonstrations, seminars, and panels throughout the event. Talk about rubbing shoulders with some of the elite foodies of Indianapolis! Restaurants attending this year, so far, include:
