As a mostly rural place, there are very few businesses and shops in Tobinsport itself. The Main Street centers on State Road 166 and Tobinsport Road. Tobinsport is also near the Shawnee National Forest, Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, Mark Twain National Forest, and Ozark Scenic Riverways to the west. The Daniel Boone National Forest and Cherokee National Forest lie to the east.
