Homes for Sale in Twelve Mile, Indiana

The city of Twelve Mile is located in Cass County. There are many stories about how the town got its name. Some think it was because it was approximately “twelve miles” from the neighboring towns of Rochester, Peru, and Logansport; however, these numbers aren’t accurate. The real origin is that there were two small towns and as they grew around the railroad tracks, they became one town. This town, Twelve Mile, is found at the twelve-mile marker of these tracks, hence the name.

While the name isn’t because of the proximity to other great Indiana cities, the proximity of those cities has a lot to do with what draws more people to Twelve Mile year after year. It’s a place where you can really enjoy the feeling of living in a small town with a strong community while still enjoying all the amazing benefits that the nearby large towns and cities provide. It’s basically a slow-paced lifestyle without any of the sacrifices that usually come with it.
