If you’ve got to self-isolate, you might as well do it like a star. To help, I’ve organized a global network of celebrities to offer their top recommendations. Read on for the ultimate popular guide to popular culture in the popular arts of books, movies, podcasts, and more.
Ever wish you could ruin the holidays for millions of people? Well, Hollywood has beat you to it.
Numerous times.
And our friends at CheatSheet.com have compiled them all in one handy list.
Instead of going to all the trouble of producing your own awful Christmas movie, gather your least favorite family and friends and tune in to one of these clunkers:
Change up your usual evening out and take in a local Open Mic night.
At Open Mic you never know what you’re going to see and here. There are some outstanding performers living right here at home. There are also some brave performers who are maybe not so outstanding. Whether you catch a rising star or not, you’ll see people who are passionate about their art and want to share that passion with you.
And there’s something for everyone. Comics. Poets. MCs. There’s bluegrass at the Mousetrap, jazz at the Jazz Kitchen and blues at the Slippery Noodle. And like the guy at the Melody Inn told me, “We’re open to pretty much anything, man.”

Its time for summer concerts. So gather up some family and friends; grab a blanket or lawn chairs; pull together a gourmet feast or just toss some drinks and snacks in a cooler. This year, I’ve gathered up more than 150 concerts. So many, that I had to put them on two postcards. Most of the concerts are free. All of them will be fun. Head on over to Boogie on down for the complete list.
