Indy Gets Lit: Tree Lighting Ceremonies

The holiday season is upon us! As soon as Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas carols, Santa making his list, and of course, Christmas trees!

Brighten up the holidays even more with these 10 lighting ceremonies around Indy.

Circle of Lights

Friday, November 24, 6pm
With more than 100,000 people attending, the Downtown Indy sight has been named one of the top five “must-see Christmas trees” in the nation by Travelocity. Events begin at 6pm, with the tree lighting at approximately 7:50pm.

Light up Danville: Christmas on the Square

Friday, November 24, 4-6pm
This fun family event features a Live Nativity, trackless train, Christmas characters, carolers, and of course, the lighting of the Christmas Tree.

Festival of Lights at Jimmy Nash Park

Martinsville, IN
Saturday, November 25, 6-10pm
The lights turn on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but the traditional holiday light displays remain lit throughout the park until January 2.

Christmas At The Seiberling

Saturday, November 25, 6-9pm
With a countdown to zero, watch as Santa arrives and the switch flips to light up the Seiberling Mansion. After the lighting, you can tour remarkably decorated Seiberling, meet Santa Claus, and enjoy cookies and wassail.

Christmas in the Village

Saturday, November 25, 12-8pm
With tons of fun events starting at noon, there will be a petting zoo, wagon rides, and more. The parade begins at 5pm and features the Zionsville High School Marching Band, the Eagle Mascot, reindeer, and of course, Santa! As the parade ends around 5:30pm, Santa will light the tree at the corner of Pine and Main Streets.

Come check out the Christmas celebration including a parade, activities for the kids, and of course, Santa! The tree lighting will happen at approximately 5:30pm.

This fun community event features a trackless train, kids crafts, free pictures with Santa, and more. The tree lighting wraps up the evening at 7pm with fireworks!

Christmas Under the Stars Parade

Brownsburg, IN
Saturday, December 2, 6pm
The annual parade of lights begins at Brown Elementary and features Santa himself! After the parade, watch the lighting of the Town Christmas Tree and listen to the sounds of Brownsburg High School’s Madrigal Choir.

Saturday, December 2, 3-7pm
So many fun activities for the whole family including pictures with Santa, train rides, live reindeer petting and show, live musical entertainment, and the annual tree lighting celebration!

Broad Ripple Lights Up

Sunday, December 3, 3-7pm
This event includes a Kids Wonderland activity village, live entertainment, Indianapolis’ only twilight parade, and a holiday light display lighting ceremony. The lighting ceremony takes place at the Canal Esplanade at approximately 6pm.
