Looking for a Luxury or Boutique Hotel Experience in Indy? Look Here

We’re probably a little biased, but we think Indianapolis is one of the most exciting places in the country to visit. Whether you’re passing through the state’s capitol for business, vacationing with your family or just exploring the fine dining, there’s always something new, unusual and exciting to see!

Your visit isn’t really complete, however, until you’ve experienced some of the genuinely luxurious accommodations the city has to offer. Here are a few unique boutiques, bed and breakfast spots, and luxury hotels that you don’t want to miss:

Bottleworks Hotel

Once part of the largest Coca-Cola bottling company in the entire world, this boutique hotel just opened its doors at the end of 2020. It’s a unique blend of historic architecture and modern opulence.
You’ll find – among many other amenities – that this pet-friendly hotel also has a 24-hour gym, a pool table, a vintage photo booth and in-room minibars. Room service is, quite naturally, available for your meals, but why miss out on all of the fabulous food and drink right outside your door? The Bottleworks is home to some of Indy’s best culinary delights, so don’t hesitate to explore.

Ironworks Hotel Indy

Like its name, the Ironworks draws all its inspiration from the Industrial Revolution that made this country grand. The super-soft beds and fluffy pillows are a fantastic contrast to the stark wooden beams, exposed pipes and industrial-glam style of each room.

The Ironworks offers pet-friendly accommodations (with a fee), a 24-hour fitness center, complimentary coffee and concierge service. You can also enjoy in-room dining or visit Provision, the upscale restaurant and bar with a community dining bar that gets personal service from the head chef.

Hotel Indy

Indianapolis has a thriving art scene, and Hotel Indy is designed to reflect the vibrant, artistic side of the downtown area. Hotel Indy is a “Tribute Portfolio” hotel, or one of a family of unique lodgings that are all about catering to the individual spirit – and it’s virtually brand new!

If the walls here could talk, they’d tell you that this is the perfect place to stay when you want to be near the Wholesale District or the Indiana Convention Center. The rooms are phenomenal and pet-friendly, and there are ample amenities. While you’re there, order breakfast in bed via room service the night before – or stop in at The Hulman for a casual dining experience with uncommonly good food.

Omni Severin

Connected to the Indianapolis Convention Center and the Circle Centre Mall in a 100-year-old building, the Omni Severin is the city’s most venerated luxury hotel. Located conveniently close to the Lucas Oil Stadium and the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, this is a particular favorite for sports fans who enjoy a little extravagance.

This award-winning hotel has a full-service fitness center, its own Starbucks, an indoor pool, a 24-hour business center, valet parking and access to the 1913 Restaurant. If you’re looking for a gracious combo of old-world elegance and modern convenience, you’ll definitely find it here.

Hotel Broad Ripple

Are you looking for something a little more removed from the hustles and noise of the city? Do you prefer small, intimate accommodations? Hotel Broad Ripple might be the right place for you.

There are only 19 rooms in this quaint suburban bed-and-breakfast, and each is decorated according to its own unique theme. Overlooking White River and the Monon Trail, this is a great spot for either a peaceful place for a solitary retreat or a romantic weekend away with your significant other. You can spend an evening in the casual atmosphere of the hotel’s Bunkhouse Lounge with a glass of wine or a local craft beer.

The Alexander

Are you an artist or an art lover? Then you don’t want to miss out on The Alexander. Every single room is its own experience, with curated art pieces from both local and international artists.

Don’t be fooled, however: This is a fully-functioning hotel that’s perfect for work or relaxation. There are comfortable workstations, massive bathrooms (with complimentary Aveda products), fluffy robes and super-soft bedding. While their Market Dining experience and Plat 99 cocktail bar offer incredible dishes and drinks, the in-room dining may tempt you to just settle in for a night of quiet grandeur.

Hotel Carmichael

If the Arts & Design District is your ultimate destination or you’re headed to The Palladium, Hotel Carmichael is the best place in the city to stay. Tucked up against the Monon Trail, it’s also a great spot to be if you happen to enjoy long walks and lots of scenery.

The Hotel Carmichael is exactly what many people envision when they think of a “luxury hotel,” with its polished checkered floors, oversized furniture, refined art and glittering chandeliers. Virtually anything you want is at hand, whether you want to listen to piano music in the lounge with your drinks or take in a cabaret show nearby. You won’t go away disappointed!

Crowne Plaza Downtown Union Station

If you’re a history buff or a kid at heart who still loves trains, staying at the Crowne Plaza could be the fulfillment of a dream. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel is still an active train station – and it has 26 authentic Pullman train cars converted into guest rooms with a themed decor out of the 1920s.

If you prefer a modern room, they have those, too – along with just about every imaginable luxury you might want with your stay, from concierge service and a gift shop to laundry service, a workout room and a pool.

While you’re here, be sure to check out some of the best that Indy has to offer, whether it’s one of the many things that Indy is known for the best (like the Indy 500 or the Children’s Museum) or some of the more unconventional attractions you’ll find here. Who knows? You may never want to leave!
