REALTOR®/Broker

• I am a trained negotiator, an experienced communicator, and a highly motivated real estate broker. I represent both buyers and sellers in residential transactions.

• I have been an attorney in private practice in and around Bloomington since 1979. During that time, I’ve confronted on innumerable occasions the nuances of real estate law and practice and have become thoroughly versed in the intricacies of title work and the resolution of inspection and boundary disputes. I understand the policies and demands of lenders in most all of the communities in South Central Indiana and the maze of requirements inherent in seeking and obtaining residential financing. As a result of my extensive training and four decades of hands-on expertise in the real estate arena, I bring to my job as a broker associate at F.C. Tucker an unparalleled level of knowledge and professionalism.

• I graduated from the I.U. Maurer School of Law in 1979 and, while there, I was an editor of the Indiana Law Review. Before enrolling in law school, I worked as the associate news editor of the Bloomington Herald-Times newspaper and taught advanced newspaper reporting in I.U.’s School of Journalism (from which I received a bachelor’s degree in 1971). While in college, I was the editor of the Indiana Daily Student, the campus newspaper for Indiana University. I continue to remain active in the journalistic community by serving on the board of directors of the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame. For a number of years, I was also an adjunct lecturer in business and business law at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington.

• I travel frequently to Indianapolis to participate in the activities of the Sons of the American Revolution (of which I previously served as state chancellor and counsel) and in the Society of Indiana Pioneers, of which I am a member.

• Since 2013, my wife, Carla, and I have devoted a considerable amount of our time and energies toward establishment of a classical language charter school to serve students in grades K through 12 in Bloomington and its surrounding counties. I serve on the Seven Oaks Classical School Board of Directors and will continue to assist the school’s administrators now that the facility is operational and thriving. I also serve as the school’s legal counsel.
