Jeremiah Gray-Edison Elementary School

Jeremiah Gray-Edison is one of two elementary schools in the state of Indiana that are Edison schools. These schools partnered with the educational company EdisonLearning to create positive and successful school environments from challenging situations. Students in these schools tend to be more academically ready when they learn in this environment.

 

Mary Bryan Elementary School

Teachers at Mary Bryan Elementary take the lessons learned in the classroom and apply them to real world applications. Literacy and math skills are used for activities such as writing letters to soldiers, book fairs, and cooking experiments. Henry Burkhart Elementary School

Winchester Village Elementary School

As one of the five Title I elementary schools in the MSD of Perry Twp, Winchester Village receives federal grants for literacy and math readiness programs. Teachers here create projects where students really get involved in their school work, from creating maps of the state and making games.  But students can also join in a number of clubs and activities such as spell bowl and organizing food drives.

 

Rosa Parks-Edison Elementary School

Rosa Parks-Edison is the second Edison school in this school district and the state of Indiana. Rated an A by the Indiana Department of Education, the students here get continual help and hands-on practice with what they’re learning. By bringing in technology into the classroom, students of all abilities benefit. Partnering with EdisonLearning, an educational company, it has shown a positive and successful change at Rosa Parks-Edison.

 

Homecroft Elementary

Homecroft Elementary School is a public school for children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 offering a curriculum that is made fun and exciting with a full schedule of activity days and extracurricular clubs. With frequent events like Movie Night and Silly Sock Day, the students at Homecroft Elementary are sure to find a warm and welcoming atmosphere in their classroom. Homecroft Elementary has a high rating among the parent and teacher community and is a school that enforces a dress code. The main goal of the faculty at Homecroft Elementary is to encourage character development and prepare students for later years of education.

 

Southport Elementary

JWR Alternative Program

There are several programs for all ages intact at the James Whitcomb Riley Building Alternative Education Program designed to help students who have trouble learning in traditional settings. Southport 6th Grade Academy

Southport 6th Grade Academy dedicates its classrooms to preparing students for middle and high school. This unique school only houses 6th Graders. This school offers extracurricular activities such as Academic Pursuit, which is a trivia club that competes against other clubs from surrounding schools. Athletics offered at Southport 6th Academy include soccer, golf, wrestling, track, and cross country.

 

Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy

Receiving an A from the Indiana Department of Education, this academy designed for only 6th Graders has the proven track record of providing an excellent education to its students. Students here really get into their work, and teachers are trained to use a variety of activities in their instruction.  These 6th Graders also have opportunities to join in a variety of clubs, service learning projects in the community, and athletics.

 

Perry Meridian Middle School

Perry Meridian Middle School is one of two middle schools in the school district, offering public education for students in Grades 7-8. This small community offers low student-to-teacher ratios, creating an atmosphere within each classroom that ensures the students learning goals and challenges are tended to. Plenty of clubs, arts programs, athletics, and school celebrations keep students busy when they’re not studying.

 

Southport Middle School

Students at Southport Middle School really do get a well-rounded education. Programs like Khan Academy and Rosetta Stone are often used in the classroom to support the lessons and for students to get extra help. These 7th and 8th Graders have opportunities to take foreign languages (French, German, Spanish), orchestra, band, choir, or a number of sports teams to choose from.

 

Perry Meridian High School

Perry Meridian High School is one of two public high schools within the MSD of Perry Township offering an exciting curriculum for Grades 9-12 students. The school’s athletic team is represented by the Falcon mascot, which includes high-performance teams for both boys and girls. Sports available at the school include soccer, cross country, golf, football, tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, wrestling, softball, and track and field. In alignment with the school’s goals to prepare students for postsecondary education, the school also arranges for college visits from representatives to introduce opportunities to students and offers additional guidance services to students.

 

Southport High School

Southport High School students (Grades 9-12) are competitive both in the classroom and on the field. This diverse high school focuses on giving students a firm foundation in the core subjects by making connections to real-world problems via critical thinking skills. Expanded course work in art, music, physical education, technology, family and consumer sciences, social studies, foreign languages give these students the well-rounded education they’ll need to compete in today’s society.  Southport High School students have the opportunities to join in a number of academic and non-academic clubs as well as athletics such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, swimming and diving, track and field, volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, and marching band.
