The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township is located on the east side of Indianapolis. It consists of one early childhood center, nine elementary schools, three intermediate schools, three middle schools, and one high school. The district participates in many academic programs to benefit its students including a focus on 21st Century technology by providing all children in Grades 3-12 with a Chromebook.

Warren Early Childhood Center
Recognized by the Indianapolis-Marion County City Council, the Warren Early Childhood Center also received a B rating by the Indiana Department of Education. The curriculum for these young learners is project-based learning to help students answer questions of how the world works. Teachers here are specially trained to work with preschool-aged students and create a welcoming and caring environment for these students to start off their educational career.
Brookview Elementary School
This K-4 elementary school first opened its doors in 1968. Today, technology is integrated into the curriculum so that students learn 21st Century skills starting at a young age. Starting in the 3rd Grade, each student receives a Chromebook to complete work online and can be used to minimize downtime due to inclement weather. Students at Brookview Elementary have the opportunity to join in the Art Club, Math Bowl, Student Council, Girls Inc. as well as a number of sports including basketball, baseball, swimming, and soccer.
Eastridge Elementary School
Home of the Rockets, this elementary school teaches Kindergarten through 4th Grade students. While it has a strong focus on early literacy and math readiness skills, this diverse learning environment also encourages students to participate in their many clubs and activities. Students here have the opportunity to join the Math Bowl, the FYI News Team, Student Council, or several music groups (students can choose between choral or percussion instruments).
Grassy Creek Elementary School
Grassy Creek Elementary School has had a history of excellence for over the past 50 years. This K-4 elementary school has also received an A rating from the Indiana Department of Education. Teachers here have a focus on early literacy skills and have worked hard to receive an early literacy grant each year from 2011-2014. Art Club, Student Council, Math Bowl, basketball, soccer, and swimming are just a few clubs and sports students here can join in.
Hawthorne Elementary School
Receiving an A rating by the Indiana Department of Education, Hawthorne Elementary has also earned recognition as a Title I Distinguished School in 2008. Teachers and staff work continuously to apply for grants that will better the education of their students. Math Club, Art Club, Exercise Club, and the Hawthorne Choir give students a chance at using what they learned in the classroom to expand their knowledge and represent their school.
Lakeside Elementary School
Recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School and as one of Indiana’s Title I Distinguished Schools for closing the achievement gap, Lakeside Elementary really cares about the education of their K-4 students. Adhering to a rigorous standards-based curriculum, teachers are also trained to differentiate their instruction to reach students of all learning styles. Math Bowl, Choir, and Art Club are regularly offered for students to join as well as tutoring and intramurals.
Liberty Park Elementary School
As one of the newer elementary schools in Warren Township, it has already been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, a High Performing Title I School, and has received an A rating by the Indiana Department of Education. Students get a well-rounded education here at Liberty Park, and teachers and staff continue to find new ways to introduce new ideas and concepts to their students. The arts are encouraged with the Choir and Art Club, and students can also join in intramurals and Boys and Girls Club as well as the 4th Grade Bucket Brigade’s service projects.
Lowell Elementary School
Lowell Elementary School has been educating students for over a century. Receiving an A rating from the Indiana Department of Education, Lowell has also been named an Indiana Four Star School for five years between 2001-2008. Teachers and staff hold these K-4 students to high expectations and hope to influence them to become lifelong learners. In 1994, Lowell Elementary created an Outdoor Classroom Project which includes a pond, walking trail, flower and herb gardens, a butterfly garden, and also contains a log cabin on the premises.
Pleasant Run Elementary School
The elementary students here get the full advantage of technology by having access to tablets and laptops. Teachers and staff at Pleasant Run Elementary School focus on many different activities and new technology in the classroom to tackle new concepts. This school has received several grants for programs and materials to benefit the K-4 students here. While there are many school fundraising activities and holiday celebrations throughout the year, there are also a number of clubs to join, such as the Green Team which advocates recycling and the Student Council which is open to 3rd and 4th Graders.
Sunny Heights Elementary School
As home of the Eagles, Sunny Heights Elementary first opened its doors in 1957. The curriculum focuses on developing the whole student, not just academically, but also creatively, emotionally, socially, and physically. By bringing technology into the classroom, students are exposed to a wide variety of activities while learning 21st Century skills at the same time. Students in the 4th Grade have the opportunity to join the ENN, the school news team, where they can learn all aspects of delivering the news. Sunny Heights students can also join in a number of athletics, which include basketball, soccer, wrestling, and football.
Creston Intermediate Academy
Creston Intermediate Academy for Grades 5-6 received an A rating from the Indiana Department of Education. This school also received a grant through the National Professional Development Center for research and development of practices concerning students on the autism spectrum. These highly-trained teachers employ research-based methods of delivering a standards-based curriculum. The arts are important at Creston Intermediate Academy, and students can join in the Art Club and Choir. Yearbook Club and Student Council are also available as well as the Academic Pursuit, a “Brain Game” type of academic team.
Raymond Park Intermediate Academy
This school received a B rating from the Indiana Department of Education and has been the recipient of numerous grants for the arts and other academic programs. With high expectations for their 5th and 6th grade students, it’s no wonder their school motto is “Indomitable,” meaning “impossible to subdue or defeat.” By giving students a safe and nurturing learning environment, teachers aim at creating lifelong, global learners. In addition to Art Club and Student Council, Raymond Park Intermediate students also have the opportunity to join in the Bowling Club.
Stonybrook Intermediate Academy
This intermediate school school covering Grades 5-6 focuses on hands-on projects as part of an exploratory approach to learning. Teachers and staff at Stonybrook Intermediate Academy not only make sure students get a firm foundation of the core subjects, but also support music, art, physical education, and technology as part of a well-rounded education. Activities and clubs include Science Club, Math Club, Spell Bowl, Ecology Club, Academic Pursuit, Choir, Art Club, Student Council, and SIATV (who are responsible for the school news).
Creston Middle School
Creston Middle school is one of three middle schools in the district serving 7th and 8th Grade students. The school’s motto is “Educating students today to become leaders tomorrow.” They also boast involvement in numerous extracurricular activities such as sports including golf, football, and cheerleading. In addition to the school’s athletic programs, Creston Middle School also offer numerous clubs such as the Art Club, Speech Team, and Student Council.
Raymond Park Middle School
As another middle school in Warren Township, Raymond Park Middle School encourages parental involvement through access to a “Parent Portal” to keep track of their child’s education and assist in the learning process. The school boasts a myriad of creative and academically enriching clubs including the Science Olympiad, National Junior Honor Society, and the Robotics Club.
Stonybrook Middle School
Stonybrook Middle School’s motto “High Achievement for All” is for their 7th and 8th Grade students and faculty alike. The school has recently introduced a Culturally Responsive Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program which allows students to maximize their learning potential and create dedicated students who thrive in their community. The school also strongly encourages their students to join one of the numerous clubs or athletic teams to ensure that they not only receive an enriching academic experience but develop extracurricular interests as well.
Warren Central High School
Warren Central High School currently serves Grades 9-12 and is the sole high school in the Warren Township school district. The school has been recognized as a “National School of Excellence” since 1983 and is also an Indiana Blue Ribbon School. The school underwent some major renovations in 2005 including forty classrooms and a new fieldhouse. Warren Central High School offers numerous educational paths and programs for students to participate in so students can complete their high school education while maintaining a passion for extracurricular activities. Warren Central is known for its excellence in athletics; some of the teams students can join include volleyball, swimming and diving, wrestling, cheerleading, football, baseball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and basketball.
