These two towns are minutes apart from each other, rich with history and prestigious hotels. The detail of each hotel exudes class and elegance, with every room telling its own story. West Baden Springs is known for its grand entryway, once being the largest free-span dome structure from 1902 through the 1950s. Just next door to the former Central State Hospital, once called the Indiana Hospital for the Insane, 1899 has been renovated into a charming event space, perfect for weddings. Central State often used this building as a place for patients to gather and relax. Central State was a mental health institution that was opened in the 1840 and closed in the 1990s. It also was home to one of the first female doctors in the country. The space is rich with history and facts, allowing you to share fascinating tidbits of information about the grounds with guests.
