Ways to Enjoy Pools around Indianapolis

Schools around Indianapolis are letting out for summer break, and the pools are open! The floaties, rafts and noodles find their way out of storage as the hot summer months approach. Indianapolis-area residents look for the nearest pool to cool off.

Here are several ways to enjoy pools around Indianapolis:

Buy a home with a pool. Finding Indianapolis homes for sale with a pool might not be for everyone homebuyer. However, many families want nothing more than to have a summer oasis in their own backyard. Your real estate professional can help your understand the maintenance costs, home value, pros and cons surrounding buying a home with a pool. Then you can decide if it’s the best choice for your family.

Build a pool in your own backyard. There’s peace of mind that comes with something brand, new. Whether it’s new or existing, a pool must be inspected.

Find a home in a neighborhood with a community pool. If you’re okay sharing the cool waters and prefer to leave the maintenance to someone else, then a home with a community pool may be the best option for you. A community pool offers a great way to get to know your neighbors of all ages.

Visit a fitness center and park pools. Swimmers can take a dip at the many area fitness communities such as The Water Park at the Monon Center, a part of the Carmel-Clay Parks & Recreation which offers slides, waves, lazy river, diving boards, and much more. The Indianapolis public park system opens up pools this weekend on all sides of town—from Broad Ripple Park to Garfield Park, there’s a pool near you.

On the northside of Indianapolis, pool-seekers can enjoy The Riviera Club at 56th and Illinois, which has been inviting residents since 1933. Also the Jordan YMCA and the JCC Indianapolis offer a great swimming experience in addition to the full fitness environment.

Join a country club. With a membership to Indianapolis-area country clubs, families can enjoy all of the amenities. If golf isn’t a priority, you can sign up for a social membership, which will include access to the pool and more. Also, many area clubs offer swim clubs that allow children to compete in swim meets and gain confidence in their ability to swim.
