Atwood sits just south of the US-30 (also called the Lincoln Highway), putting residents in a great location when it comes to weekend excursions and road trips. Hoffman Lake sits just north of the city limits, so Atwood's residents have easy access to a prime recreation spot. Fort Wayne and South Bend are not terribly far, and Atwood residents can easily reach Chicago or Detroit within a few hours drive, putting two of America's greatest cultural centers within reach. Careers and Industry

Atwood, like much of Indiana, is primarily an agricultural hub. This means that both farming and mechanical industries are supported by local commerce. However, due to the proximity of Warsaw and other nearby cities, residents can also easily commute to a wider array of jobs, ranging from food service and hospitality to insurance and banking. Atwood has its own elementary school, Atwood Elementary, which serves local students up to fifth grade. The school introduces students to arithmetic, reading, and the arts as well as teaching valuable teamwork and communication skills. Students then move on through the Warsaw Community Schools, attending Edgewood Middle School and Warsaw High School. Students become involved in extracurricular activities ranging from varsity sports to theater and dance. By the time they graduate, these students are prepared to take on careers and college.
