Stores and restaurants abound in Elkhart. The city’s Concord Mall is home to a variety of well-known chain stores. If you’re looking for specialty shops and eateries, be sure to visit Elkhart’s downtown area. Its establishments include Christina’s Treasures, Elkhart Bicycle Shop, and The Black Crow, a furniture and antique store. Downtown Elkhart offers many unique dining options. Schools

If you move to Elkhart, your children may attend school in one of three public districts. The Elkhart Community Schools district covers most of the city and includes one primary school, thirteen elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools and alternative schools, and one career center. The Baugo Community Schools system serves students who live in the southwestern part of the city and consists of one elementary school, one intermediate school, one junior high school, and one high school. The Concord Community Schools system, which serves the southeastern part of town, has four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one junior high school, and one high school.  Private schools in the Elkhart area include the Montessori School of Elkhart, St. Thomas the Apostle School, and Elkhart Christian Academy.
