Marion Early Childhood Center

This early childhood center serves as a Head Start preschool as well as a specialized Special Needs preschool. Kendall Elementary School

Also offering a full curriculum for young students of Marion from Kindergarten to Grade 4, Frances Slocum Elementary School acts as an alternative with the same community rating as Allen Elementary School. 

 

Justice Thurgood Marshall Intermediate School

Justice Thurgood Marshall Intermediate School educates students in Grades 5-6 and maintains a close atmosphere with a strong extra-curricular activity schedule. The school places extra emphasis on its math and reading curriculum, ensuring its students advance in these areas. The school also aims to make its curriculum fun and exciting for its students by engaging them in frequent theme-day events at the school while also ensuring that their productivity and growth remains at an all-time high.

 

McCulloch Junior High School

McCulloch Junior High School, “Home of the Bears,” offers a wide variety of athletics to all of its students in Grades 7-8 including basketball, cheerleading, golf, cross country, football, swimming and diving, tennis, wrestling, and track and field. This junior high school also offers a very good student-to-teacher ratio as well as a complete, advanced curriculum for high school preparation.

 

Marion High School

Marion High School has a strong athletics department, known as the “Giants.” The basketball teams at Marion High School are very well known, having won seven state championship titles over the years. With its seven titles, Marion High School is ranked second in the state, with only Muncie Central surpassing the school with one additional championship title.

The school is also a well-reputed educational institution for its academics and overall curriculum. Marion High School was awarded a bronze medal by the U.S. News and World Report in its ranking of over 19,000 public high schools nationwide, which puts Marion High School in the top 27 percent of all high school in the United States.
