Franklin Township

Franklin Township Community School Corporation is a public school district in Franklin Township, Marion County, Indiana, which governs nine schools in total, including six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.  An elementary school and a freshman academy were recently added to the district in 2009 to handle the school district’s continued growth. Adams Elementary School

Adams Elementary School focuses on a well-rounded education by differentiating their instruction to meet the learning styles of all students. They also make sure that they offer plenty of activities for the children as well, such as Parents Night Out, Art Club, Drama Club, and Student Council.  Parent involvement is the key to ensuring their students’ educational success.

 

Bunker Hill Elementary School

This K-5 elementary school has dedicated teachers who guide their students to become the best they can be.  There are four classrooms per grade level, plus students enjoy art, music, physical education, and ENL classes (for those who qualify). A variety of school events during the year, such as Everyday Math Nights and Literacy Night, keep students engaged in their school community and to have fun while learning.

 

Kitley Elementary School

 

Kitley Elementary offers preschool classes through 5th grade.  Teachers and parents work together to ensure that each student is getting the educational support they need at home and at school.  The school focuses not merely on academics but on educating the whole child.

 

South Creek Elementary School

South Creek Elementary offers a excellent educational environment for its K-5 students. Teachers here are dedicated to their profession and incorporate new technology into their curriculum.  Plenty of fun school events keep these young students engaged, and they also learn how to apply what they learn in the classroom to other applications.

 

Thompson Crossing Elementary School

Thompson Crossing Elementary is proud to receive an A rating by the State of Indiana for two years in a row. This is evident of the great jobs teachers and staff are doing and their dedication to the students of Thompson Crossing. There is a strong push towards literacy and math readiness. 

 

Arlington Elementary School

With a welcoming and exciting curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students, Arlington Elementary School ensures a positive and challenging learning experience to help students reach their full potential. Arlington Elementary School is highly rated amongst the community and maintains a fun learning environment by putting on events such as the Excellent Family Literacy Event.

 

Franklin Township Middle School East

Franklin Township Middle School East is one of the public middle schools within the school district, offering education for Grades 6-8. The school is actively involved in fundraising activities like the BEast Strong Walkathon Challenge, encouraging students to become involved in their community and devote their time and energy to larger causes. Other extracurricular activities offered at the school include Band-O-Rama, Orchestra Concerts, and drama performances. The school also offers many different clubs for a variety of interests including arts, academics, chess, creative writing, robotics, Spanish, French, and more.

 

Franklin Township Middle School West

Also offering education for students from Grades 6-8 while preparing them for high school, Franklin Township Middle School West offers an alternative middle school for those families living on the west part of Franklin Township, allowing for a shorter commute and greater parent involvement. This middle school also offers many extracurricular activities and clubs, including Girl Scouts, as well as an exciting athletics department. Students can get involved in sports like basketball, baseball, and football, while co-ed teams like cross country, swimming, and tennis are also offered.

 

Franklin Central High School

As the sole high school in the Franklin Township Community School Corporation, Franklin Central High School is devoted to maintaining a full curriculum to prepare Grades 9-12 students of Franklin Township for post-secondary education and the workforce. The school’s athletic department is a highlight of its curriculum, with the school teams being nicknamed “the Flashes” with the school mascot being Captain Flash. Franklin Central athletic teams have been the recipients of many athletic awards, and the school is also a participant at Conference Indiana, one of the state’s most competitive conferences. Recently the school’s Boys' Varsity Basketball Team won the 2007 Marion County Champions and the Cross Country team claimed the runner-up title of the 2006 IHSAA State Championship.  Franklin Central’s marching band has also won numerous awards and competitions in the past.
