The Shelby Eastern School Corporation includes several schools in the Waldron and Morristown area. While the district itself is small, the education offered by these quality schools is recognized around the state. Morristown Elementary School

Morristown Elementary, serving students from preschool through 5th grade, offers an excellent mix of rigorous academics and different extracurricular options. Academic excellence is valued very highly at the school, and there are plenty of incentives and honors available for students who are driven to achieve. Morristown Elementary has excellent facilities that include a science lab, media center, and two computer labs. There are also plenty of options for students who want to exercise their minds, including a spell bowl and a math bowl. Students are also encouraged to be a part of the student council.  As far as sports go, both girls and boys basketball are available.

Waldron Elementary School

Waldron is located in the southeastern portion of Shelby County, serving preschool through 5th Grade children living in Shelbyville, Greensburg, Rushville and other nearby communities. This elementary school focuses heavily on academic achievement and parental involvement. Parents are provided with a summary of the lessons for each week so they can track the progress of their children. Waldron Elementary also operates a developmental preschool in the same building for children with special needs. This specialized program uses the most modern curriculums and peer role models to help children with special needs learn to adapt in a safe environment.  

Morristown Jr./Sr. High School

Morristown Junior and Senior High Schools are connected to one another to best serve the small number of students in the area. This school has a great mix of extracurricular clubs and activities spanning all interests to encourage students to pursue their passions. Sports are available for both girls and boys and include activities such as cross country, soccer, tennis, volleyball, gymnastics and more.

This high school also has an active band program for students who want to exercise their musical talents. The three computer labs and media center, in addition to the other modern facilities, will make it easy for students to pursue modern interests and develop an appreciation of technology.

Waldron Jr./Sr. High School

Waldron Junior and Senior High Schools are right next to the local elementary school, making it easy for parents to manage children of different ages. The high school continues the models of excellence that have been proven successful and respected around Indiana. The school hosts many activities for both junior high and high school students. School sports include cross country, volleyball, basketball, tennis and more. The school also has many groups that students are free to join including Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, The Sunshine Society, and a Student Council.
