All schools in the district have been awarded the Exemplary rating by the State of Indiana, and Carmel Clay is one of the only school systems in Indiana to have international accreditation from the AdvancED program. You can find out more about the district on the website at www1.ccs.k12.in.us/cwe/home.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she may attend one of these excellent schools:

Carmel Elementary School

Carmel Elementary opened in 1961 and has been a model of success ever since.  It is one of the few elementary schools to be a Title I School, which means they receive extra funding to provide additional tutoring resources to students who need it. They also provide high-ability programs for students who qualify. All students enjoy renovated classrooms, cafeteria, gym, and playgrounds.

Cherry Tree Elementary School

Teachers at Cherry Tree Elementary excel at teaching in a variety of ways in order to touch upon a variety of learning styles. Here, they incorporate an array of technology into their classrooms, from SMART boards to tablets as well as two fully-equipped computer labs.

This school’s diversity, which includes students from more than 20 countries, is what helps Forest Dale students prepared for learning and working in a diverse world.

Mohawk Trails Elementary School

Mohawk Trails students consistently score high on state standardized tests in both English and Math. The school went through a massive renovation to integrate new technology into the classrooms and to couple grades together to create a school-within-a-school to better give students the attention they need: Lower Primary (grades K-1), Upper Primary (grades 2-3), and Intermediate (grades 4-5).

Orchard Park Elementary School

Orchard Park teachers and staff strive to help students start their academic careers off strong and stress the importance of hard work to reach their goals. Originally constructed in 1956, Orchard Park has had several periods of renovations to adapt the building to the needs of the students, including special classrooms for art and music, a gym, a cafeteria, two playgrounds, and implementing new technology into the classroom.

Prairie Trace Elementary School

As a Four-Star School, Prairie Trace Elementary spends a good deal of their time going the extra mile to make sure their students are getting the best education.  They believe in developing critical thinking skills and relating lessons learned in the classroom to real-world applications.

Smoky Row Elementary School

Smoky Row Elementary has made sure they have the room to positively address student’s learning needs by adding an enhanced media center, special art and music classrooms, an Early Childhood learning center, and two computer labs. Each classroom is equipped to be able to use new technology to give teachers options on how to deliver lessons. The school is located on 15 acres, which also includes a wetlands outdoor learning lab.

Towne Meadow Elementary School

High ISTEP test scores and high attendance helps Towne Meadow Elementary maintain its Four-Star School status.  The school philosophy here is to turn students into life-long learners.  To do this, teachers dedicate themselves to the “Embrace, Educate, Empower” motto in their everyday lessons and interactions with their students.

West Clay Elementary School

West Clay Elementary is the newest elementary school in the Carmel-Clay School District and is located on the same campus with College Wood Elementary and Creekside Middle School.  At West Clay, grades are divided into smaller learning teams to make it easier for students to ask questions and get more individualized help.
